I learned a lot during my eight years as a programmer. I’m grateful for the experience and for the things I learned. Here are some of the most important things I learned:

1. How to think like a computer

This may sound obvious, but it’s not as easy as it sounds. Once you learn to think like a computer, it becomes much easier to understand how they work and how to program them.

2. How to break down problems into smaller pieces.

This is a crucial skill for any programmer. When you’re faced with a complex problem, it can be helpful to break it down into smaller, more manageable pieces. This way, you can focus on solving one part of the problem at a time.

3. How to find and use resources.

As a programmer, you’ll often need to find information or resources that can help you solve a problem. Knowing how to search for and use these resources effectively is valuable.

4. How to work effectively with others

Programming is often a team effort, so it’s essential to know how to work well with others. This includes being able to communicate effectively and collaborate on projects.

5. How to keep learning?

The field of programming is constantly changing, so it’s essential to keep up with new technologies and trends. This means being willing to learn new things and keeping up with the latest advancements in your field.

These are just a few of the things I learned during my time as a programmer. I’m sure there are many other valuable lessons that I’ve learned. However, these are the ones that have been the most helpful to me in my career.
